Winston-Salem 62, Howard 55

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Brian Fisher scored 15 points and Jemarcus McClinton added 14 to lead Winston-Salem State to a 62-55 win over Howard on Saturday night.

The Rams (7-16) ended a two-game skid while snapping the Bison's four-game winning streak.

Winston-Salem led the entire game, avenging a 75-63 loss to Howard on Jan. 17. The Rams lead the series 3-1.

Winston-Salem jumped out to a 17-6 lead, but the Bison used a 9-2 run to trail 31-25 at halftime.

The Rams led by as many as 13 in the second half, the last time at 60-47 with 2:10 left. Howard (7-17) cut the deficit to seven with 35 seconds left, but could get no closer.

Winston-Salem committed 26 turnovers, leading to only 15 Howard points.

Jamal Durham added 12 points for Winston-Salem, which outrebounded the Bison 36-24.

Adam Walker and Eugene Myatt scored 15 apiece for the Rams.
