KENT, Ohio -- Jordan Mincy scored 27 points and went 5-of-5 on 3-pointers as Kent State pulled away in the second half to beat Ohio 64-51 in Mid-American Conference play Tuesday night.

The Bobcats (13-12, 6-6) held an eight-point lead four minutes into the second half, but Kent State went on a 16-0 run, holding Ohio scoreless for more than six minutes to grab a 42-34 advantage. The Golden Flashes (15-11, 8-4) never lost the lead after that, puling ahead by as many as 16 points.

Tyree Evans sparked the run with a 3-pointer and hit another just over a minute later.

Ohio had pulled to a 10-point lead midway into the first half, and held on to head into the second half ahead 29-25.

The Bobcats were led by Jerome Tillman's 18 points and 11 rebounds. Steven Coleman scored 12 and Michael Allen added 10 for Ohio.
