TAMPA, Fla. -- Chris Wright scored 17 points, leading Georgetown to a 65-40 win over South Florida on Wednesday night.

Greg Monroe had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Georgetown (14-10, 5-8 Big East) and Jessie Sapp added 10.

Despite shooting 27.3 percent in the first half, the Bulls (8-17, 3-10) trailed by just one point, 12-11, with 10:14 left in the half. The Hoyas then began a 22-4 run on their way to a 34-17 halftime advantage.

Georgetown shot 52.2 percent from the field in the first half and improved its shooting to 65 percent after halftime.

South Florida (8-17, 3-10) struggled from the outset, missing its first six shots from the floor. Dominique Jones broke through from long range in the seventh minute to make it 8-4.

Jones finished with 12 points and Augustus Gilchrist added 11 for South Florida, which shot 31.9 percent from the field.
