HOUSTON -- Nick Walker led six players in double figures to help Texas Southern defeat Mississippi Valley State 99-87 Monday night.

Walker came off the bench to hit 5-of-6 from the field, including four 3-pointers, and 8-of-12 free throws for Texas Southern (4-23, 4-10 Southwestern Athletic).

Matthew Miller added 21 points. David Burrell scored 16 while Jacques Jones and Deandre Hall each had 13. Ricky Boyles scored 10.

Eric Petty and Dwayne Harmason each scored 21 points for Mississippi Valley State (5-23, 5-10). Harmason also had nine assists and Petty had nine rebounds. Julius Cheeks scored 13 and Shannon Behling hit 11.

Texas Southern led 41-36 at the half.
