HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Kris Richard scored a career-high 23 points and Tulane rallied to defeat Southern Mississippi 73-59 Tuesday night.

Robinson Louisme added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Green Wave (12-15, 6-8 Conference USA), who overcame a 28-20 halftime deficit.

Tulane took a 31-29 edge with 16:28 left on a Richard 3-pointer. The lead went back and forth before the Green Wave pulled ahead for good at 50-49 with 6:53 left in closing out the game on a 24-10 run.

Tulane won its second straight contest to move into the top half of the league standings.

Daniel Puckett added 12 points for Tulane and Asim McQueen had 11.

Jeremy Wise scored 16 points to lead the Golden Eagles (14-13, 4-9), who have lost two straight and seven of their last eight. R.L. Horton added 14 points, Craig Craft had 10 and Courtney Beasley had nine points and 13 rebounds.
