MILWAUKEE -- Victory No. 800 reminded Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun of something his father once told him as a boy: You're always going to be judged by the company you keep. And with the second-ranked Huskies' 93-82 victory over Marquette (No. 10 ESPN/USA Today, No. 8 AP) on Wednesday night, Calhoun joined Bob Knight, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Jim Phelan, Mike Krzyzewski and Eddie Sutton as the only coaches to win 800 games in Division I history.
Moving Up The Charts
Connecticut's Jim Calhoun became just the seventh coach in Division I history to have 800 career victories.
• A.J. Price and Stanley Robinson led the Huskies to the nine-point win over Marquette. Price set career highs in points (36), FGM (12) and 3-point FGM (8), while Robinson scored a season-high 19 points.
• Hasheem Thabeet recorded his 13th double-double of the season (22nd for his career) with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Connecticut is 21-1 when Thabeet has a double-double.
• The Huskies continue to have success on the road as the team betters its record to 13-0 away from home this season. Connecticut has won 15 of its last 16 games overall and 13 of 15 vs. ranked opponents.
• For Marquette, the Golden Eagles snapped a 17-game home-court win streak and lost at home in conference for just the third time in their last 19 games.
