PHILADELPHIA -- Rodney Green scored 22 points and Kimmani Barrett added 20 as La Salle upset local rival Temple 70-63 on Thursday, snapping the Owls' five-game winning streak.
Dionte Christmas had 19 points and
Sergio Olmos 14 for Temple (17-10, 9-4 Atlantic 10), which had defeated the Explorers 75-68 on Jan. 11.
La Salle (15-12, 6-7) trailed 40-35 five minutes into the second half, but moved ahead 48-45 on a layup by
Terrell Williams and never trailed again.
A 3-point shot by Christmas tied the score 50-50 with 8:13 remaining. The Owls trailed by only one point, 56-55, before Green capped a 10-4 run with a trey at the 2:13 mark. Temple never got closer than four points after that.
Neither team had more than a five-point lead in the first half, which saw six lead changes. Temple was ahead 34-31 at the half after Christmas and
