PRINCETON, N.J. -- Douglas Davis scored 16 points and Dan Mavraides added 14 as Princeton pulled away late to defeat Brown 56-48 Friday night.
A jumper by Davis, a layup by Mavraides and two free throws by Kareem Maddox fueled a 6-0 run over the final three minutes to give the Tigers (11-12, 5-4 Ivy League) the win.
The run came after a jumper by Peter Sullivan, who led all scorers with 21 points, drew Brown to within two points at 50-48 with 3:01 to play.
Matt Mullery added 11 points for Brown (7-18, 1-10).
The teams played on even terms for most of the game. Brown led 29-27 at halftime, and stretched its lead to five on a three-point play by Mullery early in the second half.
Princeton went ahead for good at the 13:12 mark on a 3-pointer by Davis, which gave the Tigers a 36-34 lead.
Brown shot just 3-of-22 from 3-point range, while Princeton hit 8-of-17, including four by Mavraides.
