HUNTINGTON, W.V. -- Damier Pitts scored 21 points and Marshall beat Central Florida 67-62 on Saturday night.

Pitts shot 4-for-6 from behind 3-point line and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Markel Humphrey added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Thundering Herd (14-15, 6-8 Conference USA), while Tirrell Baines chipped in with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

With a three-point deficit late in the contest, Jermaine Taylor made a layup to cut Marshall's lead to 63-62 with 10 seconds remaining. Pitts made two free throws to push the lead back up to three, and Taylor's 3-point attempt to tie the score missed. Pitts made two more free throws with 2 seconds left to put the game out of reach.

Taylor scored 28 points to lead the Knights (16-12, 6-8). Kenrick Zondervan added 10 points and seven rebounds.
