WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Danny Sumner hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to lift William & Mary to a 48-47 win over Drexel on Saturday night.
Sumner finished with 13 points on 5 of 10 shooting. David Schneider contributed 12 points and eight rebounds for the Tribe (10-19, 5-13 Colonial Athletic Association).
Drexel (15-13, 10-8) held a 39-37 lead with 7 minutes remaining after William & Mary went scoreless for almost four minutes in the second half. But Schneider's jumper with 6:15 remaining tied the score at 41-41. Drexel regained the lead and maintained it until Sumner's 3-pointer. The Dragons were held scoreless for the final 2:44 of the game.
William & Mary shot 36 percent in the contest (18-for-50), while Drexel shot 32.7 percent (17-for-52).
