Loyola, Md. 70, Iona 63

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Anthony Winbush scored 17 points and Loyola of Maryland beat Iona 70-63 Sunday to snap a seven-game losing streak in the final regular season game for both teams.

Marquis Sullivan added 14 points and Brett Harvey had 10 for the Greyhounds (12-19, 7-11 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who overcame a 12-point deficit in the first half.

Gary Springer scored 18 points, Devon Clarke had 12 and Scott Machado 11 for the Gaels (12-18, 7-11), who have lost four in a row.

Both teams will play this coming weekend in the MAAC tournament in Albany, N.Y.

Iona, which never trailed in the first half, led at the break 33-32. The Gaels last led at 56-54 after Jermel Jenkins scored with 6:54 left in the game.

Tony Lewis' layup staked Loyola to a 66-60 lead with 1:06 remaining. Clarke's three-point play made it 66-63 with 32.1 seconds left.
