TULSA, Okla. -- Jerome Jordan scored a career-high 28 points as Tulsa downed Central Florida 79-70 in a Conference USA game Wednesday night.
Ray Reese added 16 points in his final regular season home game with the Golden Hurricane (21-9, 11-4 CUSA).
Jermaine Taylor poured in 29 points for the Knights (16-13, 6-9), who lost their fourth consecutive game and seventh in their last eight.
Central Florida trailed by as many as 12 and tried to rally, but Jordan had an answer each time.
After the Knights pulled within 67-63, Jordan tipped in a missed shot, then made a towering slam dunk off an assist from
Glenn Andrews to give Tulsa a 71-63 lead with 2:45 to play.
He dunked again off a miss by
Ben Uzoh to make it 73-63 with 1:15 left, giving Tulsa enough of a cushion to survive some shaky free throw shooting.
