MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Marcus Van had a game-high 16 points and 13 rebounds and Central Michigan held Toledo to 29 percent shooting in a 59-44 victory Wednesday night.
Antonio Weary added 11 points and
Jordan Bitzer had 10 for the Chippewas (10-18, 6-9 Mid-American), who led 26-20 at halftime but saw the Rockets (6-24, 4-11) pull ahead, 33-31, on a
Tyrone Kent 3-pointer with 15:30 left to play.
Central moved ahead for good, 37-35, on
Jeremy Allen's jumper with 37-35 remaining. Toledo got within five points with 7:57 to go but the Chippewas responded with a 14-3 run that iced it.
Kent and
Justin Anyijong had 14 points apiece for the Rockets and
Clayton Sterling snagged a team-high nine rebounds.
Central's bench outscored Toledo's 25-9.
