ALBANY, N.Y. -- Mike Johnson hit five free throws in the final 1:18 of overtime and seventh-seeded Albany beat second-seeded Vermont 56-52 in the America East Tournament quarterfinals Saturday.

The Great Danes will meet the winner of Saturday's game between third-seeded Boston University and sixth-seeded defending champion UMBC in a semifinal Sunday.

Johnson, who finished with eight points, put Albany (15-15, 7-10) ahead to stay with two free throws with 1:18 left in OT and made two more with 16.7 seconds left, after conference Player of the Year Marqus Blakely was called for charging. Johnson made one more foul shot with 4.9 seconds left.

Albany led 35-19 40 seconds into the second half but the Catamounts, America East regular season co-champions, used a 15-1 run to go up 47-44 with 2:26 left.

Will Harris led Albany with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Blakely had 22 points and nine boards for Vermont (23-8, 13-4).
