SAN DIEGO -- Lorrenzo Wade had 20 points and 10 rebounds as San Diego State beat Weber State 65-49 in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday.
San Diego State (24-9) coasted to the win after a 22-4 run in the first half helped the Aztecs take a 39-17 halftime lead.
The Aztecs will play the winner of Wednesday's Kansas State-Illinois State game Friday night.
Wade was 9 of 14 shots from the floor, posting his third double-double of the season and second in his last four games.
Kyle Spain scored eight of his 11 points during the Aztecs' key first-half run, including a pair of 3s.
San Diego State extended its lead to 25 with 5:52 left in the game before the Wildcats finished their season on a 12-1 run.
Kellen McCoy scored 14 points for Weber State (21-10), the Big Sky Conference regular season champion.
San Diego State, which finished second in the Mountain West Conference, matched the school record for most wins in a season. The Aztecs are 14-2 at home this season and 50-8 in their last 58 home contests.
Weber State was 3-for-21 from beyond the arc, while San Diego State was 5-for-21.
