WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- David Schneider led two other players in double figures with 25 points, and William & Mary handed Richmond its first loss of the season 78-71 on Saturday night.

Schneider, who was 7-for-18 from the field, including 4-for-10 from 3-point range, surpassed the 1,000-point milestone in his career Monday in a loss to Harvard. Danny Sumner and Sean McCurdy each added 11 points for the Tribe (1-2).

The Tribe was 10-for-22 from 3-point range, giving them 34 triples in three games this season.

The win cut Richmond's advantage in the 195-game series to 98-97.

Kevin Anderson led the Spiders (2-1) with 23 points and David Gonzalvez added 18 points.

With the Spiders leading 42-40, the Tribe went on a 15-2 run midway through the second half to lead 55-44 with 7:30 remaining. The Spiders never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
