BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Raymond Taylor scored 25 points, including 12 of Florida Atlantic's 14 points in the third overtime period, to help the Owls outlast Warner 106-99 on Thursday night.
Taylor was only 4-for-15 from the field, but 16-for-18 from the free throw line, including 8-for-8 in the final overtime for Florida Atlantic (4-3), which was playing after a nine-day break for exams.
Warner, an NAIA school, jumped out to a 19-6 lead and led 38-34 at halftime. The Royals led by seven late in the second half, but a Taylor 3-pointer put the Owls ahead 68-67 with 2:53 left.
Derell Henderson, who led Warner with 31 points and 11 rebounds, hit a free throw with 1:25 left and Taylor missed a 3-pointer with 1 second left in regulation.
