Blue Devils hold Gonzaga to lowest point total in 25 years in rout
NEW YORK -- It wasn't an official point guard reunion for Duke at Madison Square Garden, but the man who currently runs the offense must have made the old-timers proud.So did their alma mater's defense.Nolan Smith scored 24 points, point guard Jon Scheyer added 20 points and eight assists and No. 7 Duke held No. 15 Gonzaga to its lowest point total in 25 years in a 76-41 victory Saturday in the Aeropostale Classic.
• Duke has won six straight (three this season) and 13 of their last 14 games at Madison Square Garden.
• Duke was 6 for 19 from the 3-point line and has now made at least one 3-point field goal in 700 consecutive games.
• Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith combined for three more points than Gonzaga scored as a team.
