NEW YORK -- Darryl Crawford scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Manhattan beat Long Island for the fourth time in a row, 71-61 on Saturday night.
A layup by Pickett with 12:49 remaining gave the Jaspers their biggest lead of the game at 54-36. The shot capped a 13-3 run. The Blackbirds (4-6) could get no closer than nine points the rest of the game.
The Jaspers held their fourth straight opponent to less than 40 percent shooting from the field. The Blackbirds, who had a four-game home winning streak snapped, shot 38.2 percent (21-for-55).
Jaytornah Wisseh had a game-high 23 points with seven assists for the Blackbirds.
