Smith's 23, Scheyer's double-double lead way for No. 7 Blue Devils
DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke looks ready to start Atlantic Coast Conference play.Nolan Smith scored 23 points to help the seventh-ranked Blue Devils beat Pennsylvania 114-55 on Thursday night in their final tuneup before opening the league schedule here against Clemson this weekend.Kyle Singler added 20 points for the Blue Devils (11-1), who took control of the game early en route to their fifth straight victory. Duke led by double figures in the first 5 minutes, then ran off a 23-3 run that blew the game open and turned the rest of the contest into a formality.
• Duke closed the decade with 294 wins, the most in Division I.
• Jon Scheyer had 19 points and a career-high 11 assists. He has scored in double figures in 24 straight games dating back to last season.
• Duke topped 100 points for the fourth time this season. The last time the Blue Devils accomplished that was during the 2001-02 season when they scored 100-plus points six times.
