• Tyler Hansbrough scored 22 points and became the all-time leading scorer in the ACC.
• Wayne Ellington had 25 points to lead the Tar Heels to the 43-point win. Ed Davis scored a career-high 15 points, as the Tar Heels win in the first round for the eighth consecutive time.
• Radford was led by Amir Johnson and Joey Lynch-Flohr with 12 points apiece. Radford drops to 0-2 all-time in the Tournament, losing in 1998 to Duke and now North Carolina.
