Temple overcomes slow start to beat Fordham for 6th straight victory
NEW YORK -- Sophomore forward Scootie Randall claims that Temple is starting to come together as one. If that's the case, they were awfully good as a bunch of disparate parts.Juan Fernandez scored 13 points before being injured and Randall added 12 points off the bench as Temple (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 16 AP) came on to beat Fordham 62-45 at Rose Hill Gym on Saturday.The win Saturday extended the Owls' winning streak to six and the Rams' skid to 11.
• Temple opened the second half with a 16-4 run and came away with its sixth straight victory.
• The Owls are 13-1 since Dec. 1, with the loss coming vs. then-No. 1 Kansas.
• Leading scorer Ryan Brooks was held to 9 points on 4-for-12 shooting, snapping a string of 10 straight games in double figures.
• No Temple player made more than four field goals, with Juan Fernandez leading the team with 13 points.
