NEW YORK -- Brian Grimes sank a jumper with 2 seconds remaining and Columbia defeated Penn 56-55 on Friday night.

Neither team led by more than five points in the final 10 minutes. Grimes hit a layup to tie the game 54-54 with 52 seconds to play, then Jack Eggleston's free throw with 33 seconds left put Penn ahead 55-54.

Columbia missed two free throws with 16 seconds remaining, then Grimes rebounded a missed free throw by Eggleston 3 seconds later to set up the game-winner.

Noruwa Agho scored 23 points, Niko Scott added 12 and Grimes had 10 for the Lions (10-15, 4-7 Ivy League), who snapped a two-game losing streak. The Lions' only two wins in the past six games have come against Penn.
