The Knights were 5-for-12 from 3-point range in the first half in taking a 32-30 lead. The eighth-seeded Mustangs (14-17) led 18-11 early, but UCF went on a 17-4 run and continued the momentum in the second half.

Keith Clanton scored off his own rebound while getting fouled on the play, and hit a free throw for a three-point play for a 46-36 lead.

Marcus Jordan, the son of NBA great Michael Jordan, made it 65-50 with a three-point play.
