HOUSTON -- Derrick Williams scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Arizona to an 84-57 blowout of Rice on Wednesday night.
Rice (3-4) hung on for the first five minutes of the game, but the Wildcats (6-1) pulled away with a 17-2 run after that.
Williams had six points in the run and Kyle Fogg capped it with a 3-pointer midway through the first period.
The Wildcats saw their lead balloon to 19 on a Jamelle Horne 3-pointer with 55 seconds left in the first half and went into the break with a 37-21 lead. Arizona's lead grew to as many as 28 in the second half.
