SAN DIEGO -- Darren Moore scored a career-high 30 points and Patrick Rembert added 18 to lead UC Irvine to a 90-82 win over San Diego on Wednesday night.
Moore had a stellar shooting night, making 9 of 9 from the floor, including all three of his 3-point shots, and 9 of 12 from the free throw line. Moore also had 11 rebounds.UC Irvine (4-3) blew almost all the 14-point lead it held with 7 1/2 minutes left. A 3-pointer by Jordan Mackie capped a 14-2 run as the Toreros (1-5) pulled to within 72-70 at the four-minute mark.But the Anteaters then scored 12 unanswered points to seal their fourth win in five games.Chris Manresa led San Diego with a career-high 18 points. Devin Ginty and Matt Dorr scored 13 each for the Toreros, who made only 8 of 17 free throws compared to UC Irvine's 19 of 25.
