N.C. Central 62, Columbia Union 56

DURHAM, N.C. -- Nick Chasten had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead North Carolina Central to a 62-56 win over Washington Adventist on Wednesday night.

The Eagles led 29-28 less than a minute into the second half, but went on a 13-3 run to take their largest lead of the game at 42-31 on a layup by Chasten with 13:51 remaining. Washington Adventist trimmed the lead to 49-48 with 5:30 to go, but a 3-pointer by Landon Clement pushed the lead to 52-48 29 seconds later. The Shock would get no closer than two points the rest of the way.

Wilkerson added 14 points, Clement had 13 and Dijon Manns 10 for the Eagles (3-3), who have won three in a row at home for the first time since the 2004-05 season.

Jamie Newton scored 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, to lead the Shock (0-7).
