CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Andrew Goudelock tied his career-high with 33 points as College of Charleston rallied from a nine-point deficit to beat Davidson 82-73 on Thursday night in the Southern Conference opener for both teams.
Goudelock, a senior guard who also had 33 points as a sophomore against Appalachian State on Jan. 21, 2009, was 13 of 19 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. He also made 4 of 5 free throws.
The Cougars (5-3), who have won three of their last four games, trailed 37-28 with 7:09 left in the first half when Goudelock scored seven points and Andrew Lawrence had five to tie the game at 40.
Charleston led most of the second half, though the Wildcats (3-4) took the lead briefly at 54-53 and 67-65 on J.P. Kuhlman 3-pointers. Leading 76-73, the Cougars held Davidson scoreless the final 3:04.
Jake Cohen led the Wildcats with 23 points and Kuhlman added 16.
