NEW YORK -- Brandon Penn scored 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Rider to a blowout win over Manhattan 88-59 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action on Thursday night.
With the score tied 27-27 at the 8:03 mark of the opening half, the Broncs (5-3, 1-1) scored 12 straight and ended the half on an 18-2 run. Rider led 45-29 at halftime thanks in large part to 12 first-half turnovers by the Jaspers (2-5, 0-1), resulting in 15 points for the Broncs.
Justin Robinson nailed a 3 at the 16:49 mark of the second to extend Rider's lead to 60-32.
Manhattan countered with a 15-1 run over the next 4:39 to pull within 61-47, but that was as close as the Jaspers would get.
