HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Corey Law and Shay Shine each scored 19 points, and High Point beat North Carolina-Asheville 76-73 on Saturday night.
Law added 12 rebounds for the Panthers (4-3, 2-0 Big South Conference). Nick Barbour added 14 points and Tehran Cox had 12 for the Panthers, who have won two in a row.The game was tied nine times before High Point scored five straight points to take the lead for good at 70-65 with 3:05 to play. The Bulldogs cut the lead to 72-70, but a layup by Law and two free throws by Barbour in the final minute sealed the win for the Panthers.High Point scored 30 points on 22 UNC-Asheville turnovers.Quinard Jackson scored 17 points, Chris Stephenson added 14 and Jaron Lane had 12 for the Bulldogs (3-5, 1-1), who have lost five of their past six games.
