JACKSON, Miss. -- Jenniro Bush scored 23 points to help lead Jackson State to a 61-52 victory over Florida International on Saturday night.

In their first home game of the season, the Tigers (2-6) struggled to take advantage of their surroundings and fell behind 22-12 with 3:57 left in the opening half. But three consecutive 3-pointers from Bush and a layup by Chris Hyche cut the FIU lead to 24-23 at the break.

Jackson State turned things on in the second half, shooting 12 for 21 from the floor (57.1 percent) to take a 59-46 lead with 50 seconds left to play.

The Tigers have won two of their last three contests after starting the year on a five-game losing streak.

FIU has lost three in a row after starting the season 4-1.

Eric Frederick came off the bench to lead the Golden Panthers (4-4) with 23 points, on 9-of-11 shooting, and 10 rebounds.
