GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Kent Bazemore scored 20 points and Old Dominion shut down East Carolina late in the second half for a 81-68 victory Tuesday night, snapping the Pirates' five-game winning streak.

The Monarchs (6-2), coming off a 75-67 loss to Delaware after winning five straight, fell behind by as many as 10 in the first half, but used an 8-2 run to close to 31-30 at halftime.

Leading 64-63, Old Dominion outscored East Carolina 17-5 in the final 6:03, with the only Pirates field goal coming with 18 seconds left.

Ben Finney added 17 points and Darius James had 13 for the Monarchs, who shot 54.4 percent from the field (31 of 57) against an East Carolina team that had been holding opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the floor.
