NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Devin Baker scored 21 points and Northwestern State defeated Louisiana Tech 85-78 on Tuesday night for its third straight win.
Louis Ellis scored 15 points, and Will Pratt and Shamir Davis had 13 points each for the Demons (6-3), who shot 56.3 percent (9 of 16) from 3-point range. Baker made all three of his 3-point attempts and Ellis was 5 for 8 from long range.
DeAndre Brown had 31 points for Louisiana Tech (7-3), which had a six-game winning streak against in-state schools snapped. Olu Ashaolu had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Lonnie Smith added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
Brown and Ashaolu combined to make 15 of the Bulldogs' 22 field goals, but the rest of the team was not as accurate. The Bulldogs shot 37.9 percent (22 for 58) from the field, including only 8 for 32 (25 percent) in the first half.
