HAMDEN, Conn. -- Justin Rutty had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and made key free throws down the stretch to help Quinnipiac hold off Lehigh 84-78 on Tuesday night.
Rutty made all 11 of his free throw attempts for the game, including six straight in the final 38 seconds.
The game was tied 10 times and Lehigh grabbed the lead at 73-72 on the 3-pointer by C.J. McCollum with 1:56 to play. Quinnipiac outscored the Mountain Hawks 12-5 the rest of the way and made 7 of 8 free throw attempts in the run.
Quinnipiac, which came into the game eighth in the nation in rebounding, averaging 43 per game, outrebounded Lehigh 60-34.
