CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Jack Crowder scored a career-high 16 points and Southern Illinois went to the free-throw line 45 times during an 83-68 victory over winless Southeast Missouri State.
The Salukis (5-4) hit 35 of their free-throw attempts compared to 19 of 29 shooting for Southeast Missouri (0-10). There were 54 fouls called in the game.
The Salukis never trailed after taking a 9-0 lead in the first three minutes. Southeast Missouri tied it up 20-20 on a 3-pointer by Marland Smith with 7:58 left in the half, but Southern Illinois built the lead back up to 43-30 by halftime, and went up by as many as 30 points in the second half.
