WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- Douglas Davis had 18 points and five rebounds, and Kareem Maddox had 13 and nine as Princeton (6-3) held off Monmouth (N.J.) 64-61 on Wednesday night, the Tigers' fourth straight victory.

James Hett had a chance to tie the game for the Hawks (3-5) with 1.3 seconds left, but his off-balance 3-pointer didn't reach the rim. Hett and Phil Wait had 12 points each as Monmouth rallied from a 15-point deficit. Monmouth was playing its fourth game in six days, and first at home since Nov. 19.

Dan Mavraides had 12 points, two blocks and two steals as five Tigers reached double figures in scoring. Princeton leads the all-time series in this New Jersey rivalry 11-4.
