High Point 80, Tennessee Tech 69

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Nick Barbour scored 18 points and High Point defeated Tennessee Tech 80-69 on Wednesday night to extend its winning streak to three games.

Corey Law added 15 points for the Panthers (5-3), who won the first game of a seven-game road trip.

High Point took a 34-25 lead into halftime and then shot 58.3 percent from the field (14 of 24) in the second half to ruin Tennessee Tech's first game of a six-game homestand.

Tennessee Tech's Liam McMorrow hit two free throws to tie the score at 43 with 13:45 left in the game, but the Panthers scored the next 12 points for a 55-43 advantage with 9:13 to play.

Zach Bailey's free throws cut the lead to 61-56 with 6:03 to play, but that was as close as Tennessee Tech (2-4) would get.

Tehran Cox and Shay Shine added 13 points each for the Panthers.

Kevin Murphy scored 17 points and Alfred Jones added 11 for the Golden Eagles.
