NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Mark Rutledge scored 19 points to lead five Central Arkansas players in double figures in an 85-73 victory over Chicago State on Friday night in the Lumberjack Classic.
Rutledge went 4-for-5 from the field, including 3-for-3 on 3-pointers, and 8-for-8 from the line for the Bears (3-6). Chris Henson and Mike Pouncy scored 13 points apiece, Imad Qahwash had 12 and TK Smith had 11.Carl Montgomery paced the Cougars (2-8) with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Sean Montgomery added 13 points and Victor Scott and Hajji Martin 10 each.Chicago State made eight more baskets than Central Arkansas but went 5 of 17 from the free throw line as opposed to Central Arkansas' 27 of 33. The Cougars also outrebounded the Bears 49-39.The Bears led 40-30 at intermission and never by fewer than eight in the second half.
