TOLEDO, Ohio -- Reese Holliday scored six of his 16 points in overtime to lead Toledo over Valparaiso 74-72 on Saturday night for the Rockets' first win of the season.
Holliday scored the first four points of overtime, on a tip-in and two free throws, putting Toledo (1-9) up 67-63.
The Crusaders (6-4) cut it to one twice but couldn't overcome the Rockets, who went 8 of 12 from the free-throw line in the extra period. After Valparaiso brought it to 73-72 with 16 seconds left, Holliday sealed it on two free throws with 14 seconds remaining.
It was the first win for Tod Kowalczyk as the Rockets' coach.
