UC Riverside can't handle St. Mary's on road

MORAGA, Calif. -- Rob Jones had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Matthew Dellavedova scored a career-high 23 points, leading Saint Mary's to a 75-56 victory Tuesday night over UC Riverside.

The Gaels (8-2), who improved to 7-0 at home, had eight points and seven assists from guard Mickey McConnell.

Senior guard Javon Borum led UC Riverside (3-6) with 15 points, and Phil Martin had seven points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders.

Jones, a transfer from San Diego, set his scoring high as a Gael. He scored 27 against Loyola Marymount as a freshman for San Diego.

Jones shot 9-for-15 from the field and 6-for-9 from 3-point range. Dellavedova was 9 of 17 from the field and 5 of 10 from long range while dishing out seven assists.

Leading just 41-35 with under 14 minutes left, the Gaels went on a 22-5 run, jumping their lead to a commanding 63-40.
