AKRON, Ohio -- Nikola Cvetinovic had 17 points and 11 rebounds to help Akron defeat Bethune-Cookman 77-66 in overtime on Saturday.

The Zips (5-4), who trailed by as many as 14, faced a seven-point, 56-49 deficit with 1:44 to play before rallying with the 3-point shot.

Akron made three straight 3s, capped by a long-distance shot from Brett McClanahan to tie it at 58 and send it into overtime with 43 seconds left.

On the Zips' first overtime possession, Cvetinovic hit a layup for a 60-58 lead, their first of the game. The shot sparked a 10-2 run, highlighted by back-to-back 3s from Steve McNees and McClanahan, to snap a two-game losing skid.

Akron was 6 of 19 from 3-point range in the game (31.6 percent), including 2 of 3 in overtime (66.7 percent). The Zips had just 2 of their 11 turnovers after halftime.

Alexander Starling led the Wildcats (5-7) with 19 points.
