CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Josh Terry scored 22 points and Austin Peay defeated Eastern Kentucky 78-51 on Saturday night.
Terry was 8 of 10 shooting as the Governors (7-6, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference) made 52.6 percent from the field (30 of 57).
Austin Peay, which was 17 of 29 from the floor in the first half, never trailed and scored eight straight to build a 16-7 advantage early. The Governors ended the first half on an 11-2 run to lead 40-25 at halftime.
The Colonels, who lost for the 17th time in the last 18 meetings against Austin Peay, brought it to 51-42 on Taylor Filipek's jumper with 11:10 remaining. However, they wouldn't make another shot over the next nine minutes as Austin Peay pulled away on a 25-3 run.
Eastern Kentucky (5-6, 1-2) was led by Spencer Perrin with 11 points.
