TROY, Ala. -- Jordan Campbell scored 15 points, Belmont used a strong early run and capitalized on Troy's first-half mistakes in a 98-63 rout on Saturday.
Campbell, who scored all of his points on five 3-pointers, led four other Bruin players that scored in double figures. Scott Saunders and Ian Clark each finished with 13 points, while Mick Hedgepeth and J.J. Mann had 10 apiece.Belmont (8-2), which has won three straight, trailed 8-5 before going on a 33-5 run over the next 11 minutes of the first half to eventually claim a 51-25 lead at halftime. The Bruins forced 18 turnovers by Troy (1-9), which has lost nine in a row.Shawntez Patterson led the Trojans with 24 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the field, making six of his shots from behind the 3-point line. Vernon Taylor had 13 points and Will Weathers had 12 points and a game-high eight turnovers.
