JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Marland Smith scored 19 points and Southeast Missouri State won its second game of the season, holding off Jacksonville State 76-67 Sunday night in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

The Redhawks (2-10, 1-2), who hit 22 of 26 free throws in the second half, won their second straight after beating Hannibal-LaGrange 101-52 on Dec. 11.

The Gamecocks (2-10, 0-2) have lost six in a row.

The Redhawks led by 16 in the second half, but Jacksonville State pulled ahead 60-59 with 4:50 to go on a layup by Nick Murphy, who finished with 19 points.

Southeast Missouri used a 10-3 run to lead by six, then made 7 of 8 free throws in the final 1:10.

Stephen Hall added 16 points for the Gamecocks. Jeremy Bynum had 12 despite going 1 of 11 from 3-point range.

Southeast Missouri trailed 1-0 before tipoff due to a technical foul against the Redhawks for dunking in warmups.
