SAN ANTONIO -- Josh Davis' 3-pointer with 6 seconds to play tied the game and Andy King made a free throw with 4 seconds left to give Samford a 74-73 victory over UTSA on Monday night.
Devin Gibson had a triple-double for UTSA, with 17 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds, plus six steals. But his turnover led to the final free throw for the Bulldogs (8-4).Gibson, 11 for 11 from the free-throw line, made his last two foul shots with 25 seconds left to put UTSA (6-3) ahead 73-70. But Davis' fifth 3-pointer tied it and after Gibson's turnover, King was fouled and made the second of two free throws. UTSA did not take another shot.The Bulldogs trailed 52-39 with 12:43 remaining, but scored the next 11 points.Josh Bedwell led Samford with 21 points. Davis had 17 and King 15. Jeromie Hill led the Roadrunners with 19 points.
