AUBURN, Ala. -- Earnest Ross scored 16 points to lead four Auburn players in double figures as the Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 68-54 over South Carolina-Upstate on Tuesday night.
Ross hit a pair of 3-pointers during an 11-0 run in a span of 2:12 when the Tigers (4-7) increased a 39-38 lead to 50-38 with 9:58 remaining. Frankie Sullivan also hit a 3-pointer and Kenny Gabriel a 2-point basket during the run.
In the second half, Auburn shot 55.6 percent (10 of 18) and was 15 of 20 from the free-throw line. The Spartans (2-9) shot 33.3 percent (11 of 33) after halftime and were just 1 of 2 from the line.
Sullivan scored 14 points for Auburn, Josh Wallace added 13 and Gabriel had 10 for the Tigers. Gabriel also blocked four shots.
