WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Khalid Mutakabbir's reverse layup with 8.5 seconds left gave Presbyterian a 66-64 victory over Wake Forest on Tuesday night.

The Blue Hose then held on when Wake Forest's C.J. Harris missed a jumper in the lane at the buzzer.

It was Presbyterian's first win in nine tries against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. It was also Presbyterian's second in less than a week over a school from a major conference, after a 62-59 win at Auburn on Saturday.

Al'Lonzo Coleman led Presbyterian (6-6) with 20 points. Mutakabbir scored 14, Pierre Miller scored 11 and Walt Allen scored 10.

Coleman had 12 points in the first half as Presbyterian raced to a 36-26 halftime lead. The Blue Hose led by as many as 14 twice in the second half, but Wake Forest got back in it with an 11-0 spurt midway through the second half.

Wake Forest eventually tied the game at 64-64 on J.T. Terrell's 3-pointer with 41.5 seconds remaining.

Presbyterian worked the clock down and Mutakabbir beat Terrell on the baseline and went on to convert a reverse layup for the final margin.

Gary Clark led Wake Forest (6-6) with 14 points and Travis McKie had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Presbyterian shot 50 percent from the field (24 of 48), was 8 of 16 from 3-point range and was a perfect 10 of 10 from the free-throw line.
