LINCOLN, Neb. -- Ray Gallegos scored 15 points and Jorge Brian Diaz had 14 as Nebraska won its eighth straight game with a 79-39 victory over Grambling State on Tuesday night.

The Cornhuskers (10-2) dominated from the start, holding Grambling State (2-9) to one field goal in the first 8 1/2 minutes en route to an 18-3 lead. Nebraska took advantage of six Tigers turnovers during that stretch and scored a dozen fast-break points.

Nebraska had its way inside, scoring 42 points in the paint and outrebounding Grambling State 48-33. The Husker bench scored 47, led by Gallegos and Andre Almeida, who had nine points.

Peter Roberson had 12 points to lead Grambling State, which had its lowest point total of the year. Its previous low was 41 in a loss to Stephen F. Austin.
