HAMPTON, Va. -- Kwame Morgan capped a 22-point night with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, lifting Hampton to a 62-59 victory over Liberty on Wednesday night.

Liberty (7-6) charged to an early 23-5 lead and, except for a brief interruption, maintained a double-digit advantage into the second half. A Morgan 3-pointer with 15:53 to go cut Hampton's deficit to nine. But the Flames built the lead back to 14 points going into the game's final 10 minutes.

Hampton (9-2) outscored the Flames 13-0 over the next six minutes, pulling to within 53-52 with 3:52 to go.

The Pirates were aided by 26 Liberty turnovers, including two during the final minute of the game, while committing just 14. Hampton took full advantage of Liberty's miscues, outscoring the Flames 37-11 on points off turnovers.

Charles Funches added 17 points for Hampton, while Eric Gordon led Liberty with 15 points.
