N.C. Central 99, Milligan 91

DURHAM, N.C. -- Nick Chasten scored 18 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds to help North Carolina Central defeat Milligan College 99-91 on Wednesday night.

The Eagles (5-6) were also led by Landon Clement's 25 points and a 21-point effort from C.J. Wilkerson as N.C. Central scored a season-high 99 points -- its highest total since 2003 when the Eagles scored 108 points against District of Columbia.

The Eagles were 35 of 67 from the field (52.2 percent), but trailed 74-73 with 8:50 left to play. A layup from David Best with 8:10 to go gave N.C. Central a one-point advantage and the Eagles led the rest of the way.

The Buffaloes (3-9) shot 55.2 percent from the floor (16 of 29) in the opening half as the teams were tied at 46 going into halftime.

Justin Sylvester scored 24 points and Hudson Fricke added 22 for Milligan, an NAIA school.
